"I want to carry out a reconciliatory search with our body, its nature and its manifestations."
Daniel Alejo (Linares, 1983) is a Spanish Visual/Digital artist and Visual Arts teacher for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
Inspired by disease as part of life and the continuous development of science and technology, Alejo, through metaphysical illustration, symbolism and geometry, invites the viewer to contemplate other realities and reflect on the idea of current society that the media has been forging daily around disease and death.
Objectives:
– To carry out a reconciliatory search with our body, its nature and its manifestations.
– To question the current concept of disease in contemporary society and culture, based on understanding and reflection.
– To facilitate the acceptance and, consequently, transformation of the words disease and death as our own entities and ours, attaching them to the world of life.
– To provide new ways of approaching, understanding and assimilating the disease and, consequently, identity, the body, …
– To promote a different consciousness, where that passage and that transit is increased in the contemporary individual in a porous, permeable and transparent way in a social and cultural climate.
